Eric Waugh is one of today’s most innovative, recognizable, and collected artists of fine art among both private and corporate collectors. Born in Montreal, Canada, in 1963, Waugh is self-taught in every artistic aspect. Even after 20 successful years, his art continues to evolve and inspire as he combines his explosive pallet with bold and graphic interpretations of a glowing future.

Waugh describes his artistic style as ‘pop fusion.’ This term originated with music, referring to works that combine a variety of musical styles such as rhythm and blues, jazz, gospel, soul, funk, and others. Waugh’s art, too, has elements of ‘pop fusion.’ His unique blend of art incorporates multiple modern artistic genres including pop art, expressionism, art deco, and cubism. Waugh’s exploration with pop fusion gives his art energy and vitality, resulting in an immediately recognizable, fresh, and distinctive Waugh style.

Waugh uses a painterly quality in his brush strokes and incorporates rich textural effects with a variety of mixed media elements. His artistic themes embrace romantic couples, lively music, lush landscapes, serene still lifes, abstracts, and other images that reflect life’s simple pleasures. He creates his work on paper, canvas, and 3D multilayered images on wood as well as freestanding sculptures

In addition to studio painting, for special events, Waugh takes his art to the people with live painting performances. He creates original art in front of audiences, letting music guide his brushstrokes. Waugh has entertained on stage from New York to San Francisco and from Montreal to Miami beside such diverse musical talents as Tony Bennett, Nelly Furtado, the Doobie Brothers, the Rippingtons, Allan Harris, John Waite, the Rochester Symphony Orchestra, the Wallflowers, the Yellowjackets, and the Brooklyn Philharmonic Jazz Quartet, among others. This musically inspired artistry touches both art and music lovers alike.

As a humanitarian, He has donated his time and talent to help many charitable organization. Including live painting performances for The Larry King Cardic Foundation, The Franco Harris’s Immaculate Reception Benefit for the Children’s Miracle Network, American Cancer Society, Taste of the Nation, UNICEF, Camp Heartland, Starlight Children’s Foundation, Gilda’s Club, and many others. Waugh has also appeared on the hit TV show, Extreme Makeover-Home Edition where he painted a mural for the kids of Camp Heartland East coast. Waugh’s efforts have helped raise over $800,000 in the last few years alone.

Waugh’s artistic imagination earns him respect and appreciation from both corporate and private collectors worldwide, placing him at a level of distinguished prominence in today’s competitive art scene. His new work is nothing less than exhilarating, inviting both the Waugh collector and new admirers into his world of infinite possibilities. His art strikes a chord in his viewer’s soul, one that resonates in his own.
