Living in Montreal, Eric Waugh is one of the most recognizable and collected young artists of fine art originals among both private and corporate collectors across North America. Waugh works primarily in acrylics on a variety of surfaces, adding embellishments such as gesso, metallic paints and pens, and watercolor pencils. With his masterful use of vibrant colors, rich textures, and lively subject matter, Waugh's fun yet sophisticated art celebrates life. Waugh's subject matter includes urban life, romance, music, pets, still life, and abstracts. Waugh's contemporary style reflects his heartfelt passion for the arts and his appreciation for life's simple pleasures. Waugh's art revealing his own positive and enthusiastic outlook on life can be seen on his website (www.ericwaugh.com)
Waugh's humanitarian instincts are an integral part of Waugh the artist. Waugh is involved with a variety of charitable organizations, primarily those related to children. He is also a Guinness Book of World Records holder for "Hero," the world's largest painting on canvas (41,400 square feet) by a single artist, which Waugh created to raise funds for Camp Heartland and the Starlight Children's Foundation in Minneapolis.
Waugh also garners media attention with features on CNN, the Today Show, NBC, FOX, CBS, and ABC in major cities such as Chicago, Atlanta, Miami, New York, Minneapolis, and Jacksonville. And in a historic first, Waugh also painted live on radio for “Coffey in the Morning” WKIS-FM (99.9 Miami, FL). Features in print media include those in People Magazine, The Atlanta-Journal Constitution, The Miami Herald, The Piedmont Review, Jezebel, The Globe and Mail, The Montreal Chronicle, and Chicago Insider, to name a few.
Waugh's painting performances have been well-received by diverse audiences. People who seldom, if ever, get to see the artistic process in action watch mesmerized as Waugh creates art before their eyes.
